Supporting mission work can benefit all

You are invited to join us on Friday, April 4th from 7:30 – 9:30 PM for the 5th annual “Night of the Iguana” fundraising event to be held at Reynoldsburg Church of Christ.

Reynoldsburg Church of Christ is no newcomer when it comes to mission work, having sent missionaries to foreign countries for nearly three decades. In an effort to involve others who are interested in this kind of outreach, the “Night of the Iguana” fundraising event was established as an avenue for individuals, businesses and other churches to contribute financially toward the ongoing missionary efforts in Guyana, South America.

Patrick Mead Patrick Mead, pulpit minister at Rochester Church of Christ (Rochester MI) will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Mead’s gift is presenting deep and sometimes difficult truths in a way that everyone can understand them. He uses humor and a gentle spirit to help shape souls. He holds doctoral and postdoctoral qualifications in psychoneuroimmunology and continues to teach special courses at universities in the Midwest. He is deeply involved in mission work in Scotland, Romania, and Indonesia and, through other family members, in West Africa and South America.

Come and experience the sights and sounds of Guyana, South America. Get the feel for what it is like to walk through a typical village marketplace. Visit displays for medical relief and church camp, and hear firsthand from missionaries how God continues to change the lives of all those who are involved.

Opportunities will be provided to help you direct your generosity into the area that interests you most. Ways to help in this effort will include a silent auction and a prize drawing, or by simply making a donation to the Reynoldsburg Church of Christ Guyana Mission Fund.

In June 2006, Casa de Esperanza ("House of Hope") opened in the town of Santa Ana Honduras, 25 kilometers south of the capital city of Tegucigalpa. Casa de Esperanza is the home of Jen Wright and Karen Vaughan, two ladies from the Belpre Church of Christ.

This beautiful home is a haven for some of the poor, abused, and abandoned children in Honduras. Currently, there are 15 young children living at Casa de Esperanza ranging in age from 2 to 10. Jen and Karen live there and take care of these special kids.
