My sister just called and I am so glad to hear that my Great Nephew Connor has been praying for me. In fact, he prayed twice for "Aunt Gloria" today. I love hearing children's prayers. They are so straight-forward and honest. We can learn a lot by just listening. Remember when the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray? They listened.
I am learning to listen more and more. Even as I teach the Greek Class, I am listening more. It is amazing what I am hearing these days. My students remind me of little Connor. As they relax with me, their questions are awesome and fill the classroom with excitement, and even laughter, especially when I can't answer them.
Being four years old, Connor can really ask questions. He sometimes wonders why God doesn't speak out loud directly to him. But he readily admits that probably doesn't take place because he has so much to tell God and God is too busy listening. Thank you, Father for listening. I always have so much to say. I guess my little nephew inherited my love for gab. He talks my ear off over the phone and I love every minute of it. God, please bless his little heart and keep him as your assistant. He told me he wants to assist and help you with your busy days. |
